Result Marketing are experts at retail communications - finding that sweet mix of simplicity and visual ‘oooh’.

This Christmas shopping CD-ROM concept for Littlewoods nearly got there.

Remember CD-ROMs? They still had a high perceived value around the turn of the century.

The idea was to partner with a national newspaper and cover mount free CDs.

Readers would slide the disk into their computers, shop a selected range of Christmas stuff. Then, err, transfer their order to the website or call up Littlewoods to relay what they wanted. Great experience, especially when items are out of stock.

I put together wireframes and gathered content. Halfway through the decision was made to switch from outsourced to inhouse production, which put the pressure on meeting deadlines. I recruited and managed a freelance designer and developer.

We got the product finished, but Littlewoods did not go for it.

I'm still not sure what to say about the overall buy journey. ‘Flawed’ would be kind. And where was the user testing?

Still – looks a treat, eh?
